Parent Partnership

Parents' Evening

Whilst reports enable you to see how your son/daughter is performing, the chance to discuss what he/she is doing in class and how they can improve is very important to you as parents and us as teachers. Parents' Evenings offer that invaluable time to speak to your son/daughter's individual subject teachers and get a specific picture of how they are progressing.

There is a Parents' Evening for each Year Group at a point throughout the school year and these are published in advance on the school calendar. A letter will be sent informing parents/carers that the event is approaching and students will make appointments using a booking system. The evening runs from 4.00pm - 7.00pm and appointments are 5 minutes long. We advise that you leave a 5 minute gap between appointments to allow for movement between teachers/areas. Due to high number of teachers who teach your child and the number of classes a teacher teaches in that year group, it may not be possible to have an appointment with all your son/daughter's teachers. If there is a teacher you wish to see but can't, please do not hesitate to contact them for a telephone consultation.

You will be able to access our online booking system up to a week before the event to book your appointments. Please use the below link:

Teachers will be seated in the Main Hall, Canteen and Library. A map of where each teacher is situated will be given to parents/carers on arrival. Senior staff, Heads of Faculty, pastoral and SEN/D staff will also be available on the evening should you wish to speak to them.

Reporting

Knowing how well your son/daughter is progressing towards their targets at school is vital . We aim to ensure all parents are fully informed of achievement at each Key Stage.

Parents will receive a full academic progress report three times a year - the report will include the targets your son/daughter is working towards and their current progress towards this target. It will also include a comment on his/her attitude to learning, give an area for praise and a target for improvement.

All reports will also state your son/daughter's current attendance, unauthorised absence, House Points and Behaviour Points. If your son/daughter has Exam Access Arrangements these will be stated on his/her report. Guidance on reports at each Key Stage are attached.

All reports will be e-mailed to parents at the times stated in the calendar.

Parents'Voice

Partnership with parents is key to the success of our school and vital in ensuring our students can achieve their potential.

Parent Voice is held once a term at the school. It is a chance for parents/carers to speak to a senior member of staff about any issues arising and become more involved in the life of the school. Dates and times for the Parent Voice meeting are published in Action Packed Adeyfield.

If you would like to attend, please just turn up on the evening, we look forward to seeing you there.

If you would like to share your views of the school with Ofsted, you can do so by visiting the Parent View website to fill in the survey.
