Eco Defenders
The Eco Defenders club is run by the students of Adeyfield and supported by Mr Cook. The student leadership team meets weekly to discuss and review how The Adeyfield Academy can become more environmentally aware, and reduce our waste footprint.
The Eco-Defenders have so far focused on a couple of main projects. Recently, the club created and presented a proposal to Ms. Rogers and the canteen staff on the impacts of plastic cutlery on the environment. Suggestions such as bamboo cutlery have been discussed as a result.
The club has also continued to look after the school ecosystems. Litter-picking occurs bi-weekly, as well as planting trees, weeding and many other things. The club is hoping to start a rewilding project in the near future beside the netball courts.
The club is currently working on a proposal for a "Green Day" in school, focusing on the environment.
All students at The Adeyfield Academy are also encouraged to join the Dacorum Street Champions, and help look after our local community. This can be done using the link provided below.

We are also delighted to announce that the club has recently achieved a green flag for the school. This is a huge achievement so well done to all involved! The report mentioned the positive impacts on all parts of the school environment.
"We love the range of activities that you and your Eco-Committee planned for delivery. The fact that they cover both indoor (recycling bins and looking to replace plastic cutlery leaflets) and outdoor (regular litter rotas and bulb planting) activities is excellent."
If you are interested in joining The Eco Defenders, please speak to Mr. Cook, or come to GS2 Monday lunchtime.
